How do I find every subscription I'm paying for?
Check four places: your bank and card statements, your Google Play and App Store subscriptions, your email for receipts, and any payment apps with automatic payments set up. Between them, they'll catch almost every recurring charge, including the ones you forgot.
Set aside 20 minutes and work through them in this order.

Balance - Expense Tracker by Clarzen on Google Play
1. Bank and card statements (the source of truth)
Go through the last three months of every card and account, not just one. Look for the same merchant appearing every month, or every year around the same date. Annual charges are the easiest to forget, so if you can, scan back a full year.
2. App store subscriptions
Anything bought inside an app is billed here, not by the app itself, so it may not show the app's name on your statement.
- Android: Google Play → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
3. Your email
Search your inbox for "subscription", "renewal", "your receipt", "trial" and "membership". Free trials that converted to paid plans usually turn up here.
4. Payment apps and automatic debits
Check any payment app or bank feature that allows automatic payments, such as standing instructions, direct debits or autopay mandates. These are easy to set up once and forget.
Decide what to keep: a three-question test
If the answer to either of the first two is no, cancel it. You can always resubscribe later.
- Did I use it in the last 30 days?
- Would I sign up again today at this price?
- Am I paying for the same thing twice (two music or video services, overlapping cloud storage)?
Never lose track again
Once you've found them, keep the list somewhere that reminds you before each charge. Balance's subscription tracker shows everything recurring in one place with its monthly total, flags repeat debits it spots in your spending, and can remind you before each one renews.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I see an app's name on my bank statement?
Subscriptions bought through Google Play or the App Store often show as Google or Apple on your statement. Check your app store's subscription list to see which app it is.
Does deleting an app cancel the subscription?
No. You have to cancel it in Google Play, the App Store or on the service's website. Deleting the app keeps the billing running.
Does Balance connect to my bank?
No. Balance never asks for a bank login or net-banking credentials, and it never links to your bank account. You add transactions by scanning a receipt or payment screenshot, entering them manually, or, on Android, letting Balance pick them up from bank SMS alerts if you turn that on.
