Built around how South Africa pays

  • Card and tap payments logged by scanning the slip
  • EFTs and instant payments logged from the proof-of-payment screenshot
  • Debit orders for insurance, gym, cellphone and medical aid tracked as recurring bills
  • Cash spends added in two taps

Watch the debit orders and the fuel price

Debit orders go off quietly at the start of the month, and it's easy to keep paying for a gym or insurance policy you've stopped using. List them as bills in Balance and review them every few months.

Fuel prices change every month, so fuel is worth its own budget category. Watching it month over month shows how much price changes, not just driving, move your total.

Your currency, set up for you

Balance sets your home currency from your phone's region the first time you open it, so in South Africa amounts appear in South African rands (ZAR) with the right formatting. If you move or prefer another currency, you can switch to any of 140+ in settings.
