No Bank Linking

An expense tracker that never asks to link your bank

Linking a bank account hands an app ongoing access to your financial life. For a lot of people that's a hard no — and it shouldn't be the price of tracking spending.

Balance works entirely without bank linking. You scan receipts and UPI screenshots or add spends manually, so you get a complete picture without connecting anything.

Why skipping bank linking is a feature

Account-aggregator and net-banking connections can break, expose credentials, and still miss cash and split payments. Manual capture avoids all of that — nothing sensitive is stored, and you decide exactly what's tracked.

It also means Balance works the same whatever bank or wallet you use. There's no unsupported-bank problem because there's no bank connection at all.

Keeping capture fast without automation

The trade-off with manual tracking is effort, so Balance minimizes it: scan a bill or UPI screenshot and the OCR fills in merchant, amount and date. Most entries take a couple of seconds to confirm.

Frequently asked questions

Does Balance connect to my bank?

No. Balance never asks for a bank login, net-banking credentials, or SMS access. You add transactions yourself — by scanning a receipt or UPI screenshot, or entering them manually — so nothing sensitive is exposed.

How do I capture spending without a bank connection?

Scan receipts or UPI payment screenshots and Balance reads the details automatically, or add any expense manually. Cash, card and UPI all live in one place.

Is Balance really free?

Yes. Balance is free to use with no ads and no mandatory subscription. Core expense tracking, categories, analytics, receipt scanning and CSV export are all included at no cost.
